A Loch Lomond Arms Hotel Wedding

Simon

A bijou hotel to the naked eye, the Loch Lomond Arms hosts stunning weddings within its own walls and grounds – but the venue is becoming increasingly known for organising nuptials in one of the most versatile events spaces in the world: 50,000 amazing acres of hills, lochs and glens, private islands, exclusive beaches, and even safari tents owned by Luss Estates!

The Loch Lomond Arms Hotel is truly special. A restored 17th century former coaching inn, it is an elegant and cosy place that is also friendly, stylish and decidedly Scottish. The hotel is situated in the very beautiful village of Luss, in a prime spot, enveloped by breath-taking scenery and only a stone’s throw from the sparkling waters of Loch Lomond. It has two wedding suites which can be used separately, or combined to accommodate up to 200 guests. There’s a stunning garden, lined by lavender plants in summer, which is a great spot in itself for gorgeous wedding photos – and the hotel is very close to Luss Parish Church, one of the most sought-after wedding venues in the UK. The food is delicious and the accommodation is luxurious, yet unpretentious.

Bespoke Events and Private Hire

The Loch Lomond Arms Hotel organises weddings across Luss Estates’ sprawling land – perfect for couples seeking out a wedding in Loch Lomond itself or the Scottish Highlands. The venue partners with local operators and can organise weddings lochside, as well as in glens and on hillsides, or even in bespoke, temporary events accommodation, such as safari tents. The options are unlimited!

For a completely private affair outdoors, Slate Quay is one option; it is an exclusive outdoor venue with space for up to 500 guests, with outstanding views, a private jetty and able to offer arrival and departure by boat. Weddings can also be hosted on many of the loch’s islands, which can be hired privately and exclusively, for a wedding with an adventurous twist! The stunning scenery is a biiiiig bonus.

Accommodation

The hotel’s luxurious and spacious suites offer the perfect place for brides to get ready. For guests, each room at the hotel is uniquely designed and decorated, all with sumptuous fabrics and traditional features. There are also six luxurious lodges just a hop, skip and jump away from the hotel. Each is very well-appointed, and perfect for family stays. What’s more, most are also pet-friendly and all offer spectacular views. The all-important WiFi is in-hand, too

from real Loch Lomond Arms Hotel

There is not much else to say about this hotel other than amazing. From the moment we booked our wedding two years ago everything was amazing.

We had been to the hotel multiple times before the wedding just for dinner and sometimes to stay, every time the service and food was out of this world.

There is no words really to describe the people who have now turned to friends. The staff will do everything they can to accommodate and look after you similar to that of a 5 star luxury hotel. They will constantly try and find something for you if they don’t stock or serve it. They go above and beyond. The wedding it’s self some of our guests said it was the best wedding they have been to due to the teams little touches I.e our favourite cocktails as welcome drinks. The food the service during the wedding was nothing less than amazing just as we expected.

FAQ

A few of our most frequently asked questions about
shooting wedding at Loch Lomond

the big Questions

Where do you recommend for photos?

All of it! The Loch Lomond Arms Hotel is a fantastic place for wedding photos! The venue itself is really stunning inside and out. The garden is lovely and has a gorgeous backdrop, with highland cows in the neighbouring field for a quirky twist. The great thing, too, about weddings here is that it’s a very short walk to the lochside and the village, which is so pretty and there are amazing photo opportunities all around.

What time is best to take photos?

I always recommend two sessions: one straight after the ceremony, as is customary and then I think to capture some shots during what I call ‘golden hour’ – a window of time in the day where Luss is less busy and the sun is starting to set. This creates some absolutely beautiful natural lighting. It also gives the bride and groom a bit of a break from the festivities and to catch a breath!

Reason 2

How long does it take to receive our images?

I always tell my couples it will be 4 weeks from their wedding day until their official photos are ready.

I will however post a selection of images from your wedding on my blog 2-3 days after the wedding to tide you over in the meantime.

How many photos photos will we receive?

If you book a full day wedding package you can expect to receive around 500 photos from your day. This can of course vary depending on the amount of guests and the type of day you have planned.

Shorter coverage weddings will return around 300 photos, again the size of your guest list and type of wedding could mean this may differ slightly.
